This putty has been released as a pure high-calcium lime putty to be used in conjunction with a line of award-winning earth plasters – Loma, Porcelina, Marittimo and Enjarre. Clay plasters are a natural alternative to many wall-coverings available on the market. Benefits include breathability, mold & mildew resistance, and humidity-buffering qualities. Why use lime putty with American Clay? The addition of lime either by: 1. mixing it in with the clay plaster – lime gauging 2. diluting it with water and brushing it across the clay’s surface – lime washing ... ofers a variety of new features desired by many of our artisans. A clay surface treated with lime will be brighter in color, harder than without the addition of lime, and more resistant to water. It becomes readily acceptable as use as a backsplash material in kitchen and bathroom projects. American Clay’s ease of use offers artisans a wide range of beautiful effects, and we are happy to introduce these new, professional-level options to expand its possibilities. Additionally, this domestically-produced putty is one of relatively few on the market that is eligible for LEED points in the green building process.
